instantMENU
The general-purpose menu that powers most instantOS GUIs: start menu, quick menu, instantASSIST, shutdown menu and more. It started as a dmenu fork and was rewritten in Rust, keeping the dmenu workflow (items on stdin, selection on stdout, full keyboard control) while adding mouse support, animations, item icons, headings, alt-tab behaviour, streamed input, a slider mode, frecency and native support for both X11 and Wayland. It includes Catppuccin, classic and Gruvbox themes plus a cross-platform TOML appearance file. The command line uses modern long options (--width, --prompt, --match-mode, ...) with a few single-letter shortcuts (-i, -p, -l, ...).
See the instantMENU development docs for item syntax (headings, colors, icons, matching metadata, grids), configuration, startup behavior and the command line.
